I received a phone call on my cell phone while I was at work this past Wednesday. It was my son calling to tell me about an incident at school, and not one that made his father proud. Seems as if Josiah was guilty of punching another kid (Sam) in the belly. This was not in retaliation for something Sam did to him; rather the reasoning Josiah gave was, "because." He seems to have yet grasped that "because" alone is not sufficient reasoning. Furthermore, it appears that the real reason was because another student had punched Sam in the gut first, so Josiah followed suit. Needless to say, the issue was dealt with and I don't anticipate this sort of behavior from my son again any time soon.
Flash forward two days later and here is the voicemail just left to us from the school:
